Luther is a Picies

i attempted to read "Portnoy's Complaint" by Philip Roth over the course of a single day, and consequently stumbled onto a previously unknown brand of torture, writing poorly. morning, 0230. i cough something out of my throat, which reminds me of the millennium falcon, escaping from the asteroid-worm. zoom. i inspect it carefully, noting color and viscosity, meticulously jotting down the license plate number, should an imperial cruiser in hot pursuit ask me which lugi it was, precisely, and how many princesses they were smuggling. my eyes are closed as the water rushes over my face and i wonder how i got here. i try, and FAIL, to conjure up a memory of preparing, in some way, to take a shower

Sidenote: i found this sort of writing to be very therapeutic, crapping out metaphors of mental association which leads to a close understanding of the inner connectedness. my only regret in this liturgical exercise, is that catharsis gained should always be greater than catharsis lost (this is why i nearly failed accounting). in other words, this sort of exercise is probably more suited to be filed in the wastebasket and only nostalgically referenced at a later date.

Sidenote: now you too, can write in Roth-style, using the principles of CAPTAIN. start with a skimpy skeleton (Core) of a plotline, then simply break off into the easiest possible tangent, using word/concept association, at the earliest possible point. blank. the length of concepts reflects the strength of the concept (Axial), while a concept that breaks into other concepts quickly is more networked (Peripheral). if you come to a dead end in your thinking process, skip to the next aside or memory (Tangent). write emotionally (Angst). every fifty words of so, put undue stress on some random word (Italics). then, during a final proofread, increase the number of hooks to attract the reader, and remove all vestigial substance (Nonsense). And, as always, keep in mind that making an excuse for why your writing is poor is not the same as writing well.

life: the process of a decision made, that affected all other decisions you will have ever made.

Magical skills seem not to be inherited traits. Mum can type extremely fast, considering that the closest thing shes ever had to a computer is an Atari knock-off with a keyboard. When I was younger,
Father could make it snow... Magical thinking, however, has been observed to run in families.

TSA airline procedures and cowboys dont mix. As of May 25th, I am assuming that I will not get the opportunity to spend a week in WA with Sarah.

there are only two situations in which you do not want to include a semaphore in an intersection: there is already a sufficient condition preventing collisions, or you intend for collisions to happen.

Summer 2DO list: organize files and post, file FAFSA and TAP, prepare for LDAC, fix and inspect car, learn to cook, learn to weld, write three games in XNA 4.0, burn a mathy CD, learn locksmithing, learn to tie knots, find a good GIF editor, terrain algorithm for BGTX, and complete class/skill list for LQ, alphatest Factions.

Idea for independent film: introductions. No plot, just music with snippets of character introductions, culture commentary style. Finding the frame of god (relativity). Eliplses: please wait process is running. Dreams: the messenger/envelope IS the message. let us remember, it is the well-trained, well-educated monkey that is not released into the wild, due to a foregone conclusion that it will starve and die, further perpetuating the circle of life. anger management!?! anger need not be managed. anger is a spontaneous (self-motivated) and natural (purposeful) reaction, so it most needs direction, not management. happiness is similarly natural and spontaneous. what we need *here* is a semaphore, to make the machine work. Banana cure for cancer. The peel, inverted, strikes a pose. The core is iron, which is released when the enzyme is activated. Measure the patients iron levels before and after the treatment. teach history backwards (credit for idea goes to Lindsay) from the present (freedom, segregation, wars for independence, feudalism) to give students first an idea of how things work, so they can spend the rest of their education trying to figure out how deep the traditions are. forward chronological order does not initially present its relevance to the student, leading to disinterest early on. inventions: rainbow-shaped helicopter versus three-wheeled two-stroke bicycle.

Dream: a tale of two demons. early 1900s USA, looks like graphic novel. Dugan possesses a morticians apprentice, the employ of his long-time co-conspirator. who are you, and what have you done with my servant? i am she (flashes blues mischievous eyes when lying). its just as well, she was a stumbling buffoon. And what do you pay me for my, um, services? actually, you pay me (no flashy eyes when lying). and how long have we had this agreement? for as long as i can remember (the two (male?) demons embrace and kiss, with their noses pressed hard against one another, suggesting that demons in non-human for do not have noses? Or have longer tongues?) you may notice, however, that i smell different (which implies that demons still have a sense of smell). at some point later in the dream, the demons (in the process of organizing humans into mafias/mobs) encounter 3 men on the street, main demon (unnamed) punches *through* one of their faces with a big *boom* sketch, and the other two run off.

been doing a lot of thinking about alien races, and what is unique to our (earthly) experience, and what is common in the development of other interstellar cultures. development in this case refers to the increase of possible work output per individual, and/or an increase in population of the species. Stone age (harnessing agriculture allows for smaller workforce). Metalurgy age (improvements in materials allow for large-scale possession of land). mysticism age (superstitions and warfare allow governments to retain control over people). industrial age (precision assembly line and modular designs allow for smaller workforce). rocket age (transportation improvements allow for global exchange of goods). information age (global network is developed allowing faster exchange of ideas). automation age (improvements in automatous machines allow for smaller workforce). self-modification age (improvements in individual physiology allow for division of classes and smaller workforce). deep sea age (sustainability of life in harsh environments on the planet improves, allowing for greater population). space age (colonization of other planetoids). Astrolabes are universal, compasses are not. Curse words and warning labels and computers are universal as are meetings. Small projectile, barrel-fired weapons are not.

dream: the yellow one-story house. place where (dead) grandma went, looks like a childcare facility. Troubled, fat student sits outside, converted. is this is where i came from?

the hierarchy of machines (unfinished). the idle() process: games, masterbation (idle process uses resources), mux (a simple logical machine composed of a simplified set of not(), or() and and() or similar processes), calculator (a simple logical machine that is capable of math() processes), clock (addition of wait() and update() processes allow for a series of instructions), toaster (clock with a button() process, physical interface), buffer (a simple device that can store() or load() values of a series of interfaces), semaphore (a machine with a free() and interrupt() processes that make resources available for competing processes)moreoverwriter (a machine that can handle infinite loops with the forget() process)

"The mind boggles for a while, and then it wonders. If it is not led to boggle at first it merely wonders..." Lindsay

Related Sidenote: ignoring necrotaxis (since it is a reaction between two cells and not a result of a single cell) there are officially three different types of cellular movement (though a fourth would be theoretically possible given an ability to synthesize chemical reactants which would result in a displacement) including the use of pseudopods, cilia, and muscles. most bacteria use type 2 (ciliary movement) which consists of alternating periods of swimming straight forward, and "tumbling" in place to change direction randomly. its interesting to think of the "primative" mind as type 1: spear hurt bad, probably not good to stick spear in nose. in comparison, the current, post agricultural mind is seen as much more type 2: hmm i wonder...or is it simply want for wondering, that in wondering, leads to wonderful things? in which the mind alternates between periods of boggling and wondering...all this makes me question, how would a type 3 mind preform this sort of mental taxis, in an effort to approach the next idea at the edge of its grasp? and would it be helped by other minds, of like mind, as a single muscle cell joins to make a myomer? we dont have time to sit around all day and think like monkeys...this planet isnt going to last forever. and all the squabbling of kings will be forgotten, when the survival of our own once again becomes paramount. and are we worth saving, if we were not able to figure out the riddle in the time we had?

internet freedom (unfinished)consumers vs producers vs filters, each has rights from the other and has a responsibility to grant right to the others.
is copy write re-write feasible? (free culture movement). consumer-based filter/ratings choose 1 to 5, ratings are filterable and public. text file contains the producers signature, number of views, consumers signatures and ratings (Blank, Violence, Sex, Curses, Political, Horror, Comedy, Encrypted or Broken, Historical, Learning). nations in the agreement should not force filters on their populations, including children below the age of 18 (no child protection).

there are simple solutions, but no simple situations. Nemo
